People Picker Control in InfoPath
Learn how to add a people picker or person/group picker control to an InfoPath, how to validate people selected from it, how to get data from it, and how to use it in SharePoint workflows.
The people picker or person/group picker control in InfoPath is a control you can use to select one or more users or groups from a SharePoint site.
Because you cannot add Action or Validation rules to a people picker control in InfoPath (InfoPath does not allow you to), you must typically find workarounds if you want to validate data from a people picker control or perform actions after data is entered into a person/group picker control on an InfoPath form.
A people picker control can be used in combination with SharePoint user profile information to do such things as retrieve email addresses of users, check manager information, or check or retrieve other user profile information such as department, telephone number, etc.
