InfoPath 2010 Meeting Agenda form template

Download this InfoPath 2010 Meeting Agenda form template as a gift from S.Y.M. Wong-A-Ton to celebrate life.

When death knocked on my door a couple of months ago and asked me whether I was ready, I realized two things:

  1. I did not want to die.
  2. I still had lots of things I wanted to do, one of which was to write a book to spread my knowledge about InfoPath.

As my future remained uncertain, my thinking completely changed, and I started living in the present moment: "Yesterday is gone; tomorrow might not come; all you have is now."

So today, I want to celebrate that I’m still alive, right at this moment, here, with you. And to do this, I wanted to give you a form template as a gift, especially if you are one of the many people who have been having difficulty converting the InfoPath 2003 Meeting Agenda form to InfoPath 2010.

And even if you do not have an immediate need for this Meeting Agenda form template, you may still want to have a look at a few of the codeless techniques I used in it, especially if you just started using InfoPath. You can find explanations for all of those codeless techniques in my InfoPath 2010 Cookbook.

But before you download the form template, I must add this: By downloading this form template, you accept to take all responsibilities for and any consequences that may arise from using it. You also acknowledge having been made aware of the fact that the form template does not come with any warranties or support. In plain English this means that you can use it at your own risk and that I do not provide support for it.

The conversion process was not an easy one, I must admit. InfoPath 2003 forms do not support the new themes of InfoPath 2010, so instead of converting it, I actually had to recreate it, so that you could make use of any of the nice InfoPath 2010 themes you wanted.

The only difference with the InfoPath 2003 Meeting Agenda form template is that this InfoPath 2010 form template is browser-compatible and does not contain any code, so the sending of emails works slightly different, but should still get the job done.

I recreated the form template based on the XML schema definition file of the old Meeting Agenda form template that came with InfoPath 2003. So if you have any old InfoPath 2003 meeting agenda forms, you should still be able to use this InfoPath 2010 Meeting Agenda form template to link them to it and then open your old forms. To use the downloaded form template: Unzip the file, right-click the form template and choose Design, save the form template to a location on disk, and then publish it.

The next time you hear from me – that is, if I’m still alive – I will show you (possibly also in an InfoPath 2010 video tutorial) how you can easily unlink and relink InfoPath forms using InfoPath Filler 2010.

Enjoy this gift and have a good day!
